The New Life Center

Comprehensive Whole-Person Healing

Dr. Gil Alvarado is the founder and director of The New Life Center, an integrative health center that offers a wide range of natural therapies for your health and healing. Founded by Dr. Gil in 1980, The New Life Center is the longest functioning naturopathic and oriental medicine health center in North Carolina. Dr. Gil is a naturopathic physician and acupuncturist with over 30 years clinical experience in the field of holistic and alternative healing. His focus has always been to help you find and clear the cause of your difficulties, while providing you with effective relief from your symptoms.

At The New Life Center you will be treated as a whole person. No one is treated as just a disease, just a body, or just a mind. You may have various difficulties or illnesses, but you are much more than any of these. People come with the full range of physical, mental, and emotional problems, and by using this “whole person” approach the vast majority receive the benefits they seek, and often much more.

During your first visit to The Center, Dr. Gil will meet with you and learn about your personal health concerns, review your personal health history and current health challenges, give you a physical examination, explain to you what he finds, answer your questions, possibly order additional tests or information, and then give you your beginning treatment(s). This first appointment will be approximately 2.5 hours long.

The care you receive at The New Life Center will incorporate Dr. Gil's extensive natural healing experience and insights to clear the root cause of your problems while providing you with effective relief from your symptoms – physical, mental and emotional. Depending on your wishes and needs you might receive dietary and nutritional guidance along with acupuncture, Chinese or western herbs and body work. With different needs and wishes you may require other additional therapies. In certain situations you may benefit from mental or emotional clearing processes, and of course anti-aging and preventive care is always available.

Whatever your needs, the focus is always to clear the root cause of your problems while providing you with effective relief from your symptoms. By combining modern scientific advancements with the wisdom from ancient traditions, Dr. Gil will give you a treatment program designed for your individual personal needs and healing. By integrating proven traditional methods with the latest cutting-edge research, Dr. Gil is often able to bring improved health to people for whom conventional medicine has had no solution. The treatment you receive from Dr. Gil will be comprehensive and effective, and it will be given to you with personal care and compassion to facillitate your deepest healing.

A tool is only as good as the hand that holds it. Natural therapies are tremendously effective when used with true expertise. By respecting and skillfully integrating the gifts of nature with the advances of modern science, and by caring for people as whole human beings, Dr. Alvarado has been privileged to help people overcome their illnesses and to share in the deep healing of their lives.
